Job Role: Dining Room Server
Assisting the manager, the Food Service Worker partakes in tasks such as food and meal preparation, overseeing cash receipts, and maintaining accurate meal records. They are also responsible for supporting daily report completion and upholding the prescribed standards for food production, sanitation, and kitchen safety.
Job Responsibilities of Dining Room Server:
- Food Preparation: Prepare excellent food and baked goods according to a set menu.
- Generate a report to verify daily transactions and meal planning efforts.
- Familiarize yourself with the meal components to guarantee their completeness.
- Ensure that food is stored in a sanitary manner to prevent bacterial growth and foodborne illnesses.
- Serve food to patrons following meal schedules and established departmental policies.
- Culinary Devices: Methods for using and maintaining culinary devices, specifically blades.
- Fast Food Prep: Guarantee the quick preparation of a variety of food items and drinks.
- Elevate the presentation of your dishes and increase customer delight by incorporating garnishments.
- Assist in the upkeep of cleanliness for refrigeration units, freezers, and cooking and serving appliances.
- Complying with Food Safety Rules: Ensure compliance with all the stipulated rules related to food safety, including sanitation requirements, safe food handling methods, and proper storage techniques.
- Maintain conformity with the designated dress code policy.
- The coordination of the menu entails consistent communication with the manager to understand and prepare the daily menu correctly.
- Food Temperature Oversight: Monitor and manage the heat levels of food to prevent any potential hazards.
- Uphold cleanliness standards by ensuring your work and storage areas are systematically arranged.
- Sterilize work areas: Keep steam tables, counters, and equipment sanitized and free of germs for a hygienic environment.
- General Cleaning: Comply with cleanliness procedures by undertaking responsibilities including sweeping, mopping, and dishwashing.
- Keep the garbage collection site and kitchen floor areas clean and sanitary.
- Alternate Assignments: Handle other duties as directed, which could include supporting alternate kitchen areas.
Physical Demands:
The duties for this position may include physical responsibilities like:
- Performing lifting, bending, pushing, pulling, and extended periods of walking and standing are expected duties.
- Obeying the uniform protocol and using the required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) as stipulated.
Qualifications for Dining Room Server:
- Food Service Certification.
- Education & Skills: Sufficient education or training necessary to grasp, write, and adhere to both oral and written instructions.
- The ability to work under pressure entails the skill of being able to work efficiently and effectively in high-pressure environments.
Education:
- Candidates with a high school diploma or its equal are favored.
