Senior Project Manager Commercial Construction

Job Overview

We are seeking a Senior Project Manager to lead high-impact commercial construction projects, focusing on K‑12 educational facilities. The role involves overseeing all phases of complex projects from preconstruction planning and budgeting to on‑site execution, subcontractor coordination, and closeout. Applicants should be able to collaborate closely with clients, architects, engineers, and employee‑owned team members to deliver on time, on budget, and with unmatched quality while navigating the demands of occupied campuses, urban environments, and innovative solutions.

Salary: $130,000 - $160,000 per year

Locations: Charlotte, NC and Winston‑Salem, NC

Responsibilities

• Lead full project lifecycle management for commercial construction projects, including preconstruction planning, budgeting, scheduling, and value engineering.
• Coordinate with clients, architects, engineers, subcontractors, and internal teams to resolve issues, mitigate risks, and ensure seamless execution.
• Manage project budgets, change orders, RFIs, submittals, and closeout processes while maintaining profitability and quality standards.
• Oversee on‑site safety, quality control, and compliance with all regulations and project specifications.
• Foster strong client relationships through clear communication, proactive problem‑solving, and delivering exceptional results.
• Mentor project teams and contribute to business development by identifying opportunities and supporting bid processes.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of experience in commercial construction project management, with a preference for K‑12 educational projects.
• Expertise in budgeting, scheduling, subcontractor management, and risk mitigation.
• Proficiency in construction management software (e.g., Procore, Primavera, MS Project) and Microsoft Office.
