The Senior Director, Chief of Staff to the CIO is a strategic and operational leader serving as a trusted advisor and extension of the CIO. This role operates with enterprise-wide scope, supporting the global IT organization across business units, regions, and corporate functions. It drives alignment, execution, and operational rigor while enabling the CIO and IT leadership team to operate effectively at scale.

The position is accountable for managing the CIO agenda, enhancing leadership team effectiveness, and overseeing execution of critical IT and business transformation initiatives. It ensures clear communication, progress tracking, and delivery of high-impact programs that support enterprise priorities

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Strategic Planning and Execution

Collaborate with IT leadership to develop and execute strategic initiatives.

Conduct in-depth analysis of operations to identify opportunities for improvement.

Develop and implement operational plans to achieve functional goals and objectives.

Oversee the development and implementation of functional policies and procedures.

Operational Excellence

Manage and prioritize multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring timely completion and alignment with organizational goals.

Streamline processes and improve efficiency through process optimization.

Develop and implement key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure functional performance.

Analyze data to identify trends and opportunities for cost savings.

Team Management and Development

Provide leadership and mentorship to team members.

Foster a collaborative and high-performance culture within the organization.

Identify training and development needs for staff.

Stakeholder Management

Build and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders.

Effectively communicate strategies and initiatives to stakeholders.

Resolve conflicts and issues related to operations.

Provide executive-level support to leadership, preparing presentations, and coordinating cross-team inputs for critical meetings and decisions.

Conduct research and analysis on functional-related topics.

Prepare reports and presentations for senior management.

Program & Portfolio Management (PMO Leadership)

Own and lead the IT Program Management Office (PMO), establishing governance, standards, and best practices for program and project execution.

Drive portfolio planning, prioritization, and investment alignment across IT initiatives.

Provide executive oversight of critical, high-impact programs to ensure delivery on scope, timeline, budget, and outcomes.

Implement consistent project management methodologies, tools, and reporting across the organization.

Establish and maintain executive dashboards, milestones, and status reporting to enable data-driven decision-making.

Identify and proactively manage cross-program risks, dependencies, and resource constraints.

Enterprise Architecture Governance

Define, manage and audit enterprise-wide IT technical standards and architecture

Steer the Architecture review board and ensure enablement and compliance

Facilitate and present to executive stakeholders on architecture roadmaps

Leadership & Team Management

Lead and develop program managers and staff

Foster high-performance culture

Support talent planning with HR

Impact

Enables effectiveness and execution of global IT organization impacting operational efficiency, cost, delivery timelines, and stakeholder satisfaction.

REQUIRED:

Bachelor’s degree in business or a related field. Master’s degree or MBA preferred.

12+ years of experience in IT or a related field.

SKILLS:

Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Proven ability to operate in a proactive way anticipating the needs of stakeholders.

Enacts high-quality work and has demonstrated ability to drive outcomes effectively representing C-suite.

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

Excellent project management and organizational abilities.

Proven ability to lead and develop teams.

Proficiency in IT software and tools.
