Barista Shift Leader

Job Overview

Our New Cafe is opening soon - August 10th. We are hiring baristas and shift leads immediately. New hires must be available for training during the week starting August 3rd.

Duties

• Provide a welcoming passionat experience for our Guests
• Prepare and serve a variety of coffee beverages, teas, and specialty drinks with precision and flair
• Handle retail sales transactions accurately using POS systems, ensuring efficient cash handling and POS operations
• Provide friendly, attentive customer service by taking orders, answering questions, and offering product recommendations
• Maintain cleanliness and food safety standards in food preparation areas and during serving to ensure a safe environment for staff and guests
• Assist with food handling, basic food prep, and serving food items in accordance with health regulations
• Manage cash register operations including cash handling, balancing registers, and processing payments efficiently
• Support the team in maintaining a clean, organized café environment to enhance the guest experience
• Ensure all Starbucks standards are followed during your shift
• Mentor, coach, and lead Baristas on guest service and standards
• Assist Coffee House Leader as needed

Please note this is a NON-Tipped position per MA laws.

Experience

• Previous barista experience or background in café or food service environments is highly preferred
• Familiarity with POS systems is advantageous
• Strong customer service skills with the ability to engage positively with diverse guests
• Passion for Guest Service
• Basic math skills for retail math, cash handling, and transaction processing
• Knowledge of food safety practices and proper food handling procedures
• Excellent time management skills to handle busy periods smoothly
• Experience in retail sales transactions within the food industry is a plus

Please note -Starbucks is very strict on their dress code. There can be no nail polish worn while working and only 1 small piercing is allowed.

Pay: $18.00 - $20.00 per hour
