Job Title: Accountant (Manufacturing)
Position Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Accountant with 3+ years of accounting experience, preferably in a manufacturing environment. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of cost accounting, inventory management, financial reporting, and month-end close processes. This role partners closely with operations and production teams to ensure accurate financial reporting, cost control, and compliance with accounting standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and maintain accurate financial records, journal entries, and account reconciliations.
- Perform monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close activities.
- Manage inventory accounting, including inventory reconciliations, cycle counts, and valuation.
- Analyze manufacturing costs, standard costs, variances, and production efficiencies.
- Assist with cost accounting processes, including bill of materials (BOM) reviews and overhead allocation.
- Prepare financial reports, budgets, forecasts, and variance analyses for management.
- Support internal and external audits by providing required documentation and explanations.
- Ensure compliance with GAAP, company policies, and internal controls.
- Reconcile balance sheet accounts and investigate discrepancies.
- Collaborate with operations, purchasing, and production teams to improve financial processes and cost controls.
- Assist with ERP system maintenance and process improvements related to accounting and inventory.
- Participate in special projects and continuous improvement initiatives.
