About the role:

Reporting to the Senior Manager of Strategic Sourcing, you will play an integral part in elevating the role of Strategic Sourcing at Samsara — enabling stakeholder success, driving supplier innovation, and delivering savings across your assigned categories. You will be part of a team focused on driving cost efficiencies, maximizing value, minimizing risk, and managing overall supplier performance.

This role is open to candidates residing in the US except the San Francisco Bay Metro Area, NYC Metro Area, and Washington, D.C. Metro Area. It can be office-based or fully remote.

In this role, you will:

Actively develop your sourcing expertise — this team invests in your growth and expects you to take ownership of it

Facilitate the sourcing process end to end: cost-benefit analyses, contract review, and vendor negotiations

Help develop and execute category strategies that align with business priorities

Monitor supplier performance and partner with internal stakeholders to facilitate business reviews

Assure stakeholder alignment to drive the right business solutions and pricing

Deliver win-win outcomes with internal and external partners in vendor negotiations

Balance speed, quality, and risk with cost savings goals in a fast-paced environment

Manage projects related to Strategic Sourcing process, tools, and functional improvements

Champion, role model, and embed Samsara's cultural principles (Focus on Customer Success, Build for the Long Term, Adopt a Growth Mindset, Be Inclusive, Win as a Team) as we scale globally

Minimum requirements for the role:

3-5 years of sourcing, procurement, finance, or related business experience

Bachelor's degree in business, supply chain, or related discipline preferred

Strong communication and influencing skills — you drive alignment without relying on authority

Fluent in financial analysis including cost modeling, total cost of ownership, and build vs. buy frameworks

Able to manage a high volume of work in a fast-paced environment

An ideal candidate also has:

Is a quick study — picks up new categories, tools, and contract frameworks fast

Has a natural instinct for business, even without deep sourcing experience

Is comfortable with ambiguity and energized by figuring things out

Has a high interest in technology and is drawn to physical operations

Has shown the ability to influence others, even without formal authority

Has the ability to balance competing priorities and stakeholder interests without losing momentum
