What To Expect

The Solar Maintenance Electrician is an essential part of Tesla’s Field Energy Service team. Employees working in this role are leading the drive toward completing Tesla’s mission—to accelerate the world’s transition to sustainable energy. As a Solar Maintenance Electrician, each employee works with the latest solar technology, builds relationships with team members, and completes the installation of our products safely and on time. This position is hourly, requiring working outside in extreme environments, at heights, and prolonged periods of repetitive duties including lifting, bending, and standing for long periods.

What You'll Do

Support the Crew Lead and Electrician on the successful servicing and maintenance of Tesla’s solar products

Attend weekly team meetings and mandatory training sessions on new products, best service practices, and standard workmanship guidelines

Follow building standards and codes when installing and servicing panels and support structures

Assist with routine maintenance on energy systems

Manage time and tasks effectively with a sense of urgency

Provide an exceptional customer experience

What You'll Bring

At least 2 years of relevant electrical experience including 1 year of solar PV experience and a valid state journeyman electrician license

Understanding of the NEC codes that relate to solar PV installations

Ability to safely handle power tools and hand tools, as well as materials such as ladders, inverters, solar panels, panel boards, batteries, and other similar electrical equipment, lumber, and roofing materials

Excellent problem‑solving skills and excellent attendance to achieve team success

Travel is mandatory and will vary with business needs; employees must be able to travel for up to two weeks at a time, several times a year to various locations within the US

Must be able to work at great heights, in extreme environments, perform prolonged periods of repetitive duties, and lift at least 50 pounds frequently

Valid driver's license required
