Role Description The Bookkeeper is a full-time, on-site role based in Gonzales, LA, responsible for maintaining accurate financial records and supporting daily accounting operations. Core duties include recording and reconciling financial transactions, preparing and updating ledgers, processing journal entries, and assisting with monthly and annual financial statements. The role involves working with accounting software to manage accounts payable and receivable, track job-related expenses, and support cash flow monitoring. The Bookkeeper will collaborate with project managers and leadership to provide timely financial reports, support budgeting and cost tracking, and ensure compliance with company policies and relevant accounting standards.

Qualifications

  • Strong bookkeeping skills, including accurate recording of transactions and maintenance of general ledgers.
  • Ability to prepare, review, and interpret financial statements and basic financial reports.
  • Proficiency with accounting software and related tools, with the capacity to learn new systems as needed.
  • Experience with journal entries and fundamental finance concepts relevant to small and mid-sized businesses.
  • Attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with project and office teams.
  • Previous experience in construction or a similar project-based industry is beneficial.
  • Associate degree or coursework in accounting, finance, or a related field, or equivalent relevant experience.
