Role Description The Expeditor/Quality Control role is a full-time, on-site position based in Santa Ana, CA. This role is responsible for monitoring production schedules, coordinating material and parts flow, and ensuring that cooling tower projects move efficiently through each stage of fabrication and assembly. The Expeditor/Quality Control team member inspects materials, components, and finished work to verify compliance with company standards, drawings, and customer specifications. Day-to-day tasks include tracking orders, updating internal systems and reports, collaborating with purchasing, production, and field service teams, and resolving delays or quality issues. The role also involves maintaining documentation of inspections, supporting continuous improvement efforts, and promoting a safe, organized work environment.

Qualifications

  • Experience in production coordination or expediting within construction, manufacturing, or industrial services, with the ability to track job progress and prioritize multiple projects.
  • Quality control skills, including inspection of materials and finished work, familiarity with basic measurement tools, and attention to detail in reviewing specifications and drawings.
  • Strong organizational and documentation abilities, including accurate recordkeeping, updating schedules, and preparing reports related to project status and quality findings.
  • Effective communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to work closely with shop personnel, field crews, project managers, and vendors to resolve issues and meet deadlines.
  • Basic computer proficiency, including use of email, spreadsheets, and job tracking or ERP systems; comfort learning company-specific software tools.
  • Understanding of or willingness to learn cooling tower construction and repair processes; prior experience in mechanical, structural, or industrial environments is a plus.
  • Commitment to safety and compliance, including adherence to company policies, industry standards, and applicable regulations.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; additional technical training or coursework in construction, manufacturing, or quality assurance is beneficial.
  • Ability to work on-site in Santa Ana, CA, including standing, walking, and performing light physical tasks as needed in a shop or yard environment.
