SUMMARY

This role is responsible for all aspects of processing non-standard items for the various production teams in the plant. Beyond the actual machining of parts, the AED machinist is required to create unique work holding strategies and coordinate the CNC programming required to process a wide variety of components, including management of the documentation of set up sheets for these parts.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

  • Evaluate, create and document fixture set ups and CNC programming for unique parts and weldments.
  • Assess CNC programs to ensure accuracy, safety, quality, and efficient machining parameters.
  • Perform routine inspections and assist with preventive maintenance, including lubrication, coolant monitoring, filter changes, and machine cleanliness.
  • Monitor machine performance, identify potential issues, and communicate necessary repairs to maintenance or engineering teams.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of program prove-outs, troubleshooting actions, maintenance tasks, and training activities.
  • Assist with process improvements and corrective actions to reduce recurring issues and optimize machine performance.
  • Ensure a safe work environment and comply with all safety protocols

QUALIFICATIONS, EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE

  • 2–5 years of broad experience in CNC machining, CNC setup, or CNC maintenance support.
  • Proven experience programming.
  • Two-year Machining Technology degree preferred.
  • Familiarity with Fanuc controls or similar CNC control systems.
  • Strong knowledge of CNC operations, G-code, tooling, machining principles, and program logic.
  • Ability to troubleshoot CNC controls and mechanical systems.
  • Ability to read technical drawings, schematics, and machine manuals.
  • Excellent communication, problem-solving, and teamwork skills.
  • Experience proving out CNC programs or supporting manufacturing engineering.
  • Familiarity with preventive maintenance programs or CMMS systems.

Pay: $30.00 - $40.00 per hour
