Responsibilities

  • Safely operate Class A commercial trucks across diverse routes, including local deliveries and long-haul trips, ensuring compliance with FMCSA (Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration) and DOT (Department of Transportation) regulations.
  • Load and unload freight just hook up and droff.
  • Navigate efficiently using GPS systems to optimize routes and meet delivery schedules while maintaining awareness of traffic conditions.
  • Handle various types of cargo including hazardous materials, dangerous goods, refrigerated items, flatbed loads, tanker liquids, or freight requiring special handling procedures.
  • Conduct thorough pre-trip and post-trip inspections of trucks and trailers to identify maintenance needs or safety issues before hitting the road.
  • Document all deliveries accurately in logs and reports, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards and company policies.
  • Maintain professional communication with dispatchers, customers, and team members to coordinate pickups, deliveries, and route adjustments seamlessly.

Skills

  • Proven experience in commercial truck driving with a valid Class A CDL license.
  • Familiarity with operating manual transmission vehicles and various truck configurations such as tractor-trailers, dump trucks, flatbeds, refrigerated trailers, tankers, and roll-off trucks.
  • Strong understanding of FMCSA regulations, DOT rules, hazardous materials regulations, and safety protocols for transporting dangerous goods.
  • Skilled in GPS navigation systems for efficient route planning and real-time adjustments.
  • Ability to perform manual handling tasks safely during load & unload operations; experience with forklift operation is a plus.
  • Excellent driving record with a focus on safety and compliance; delivery driver experience preferred.
  • Capable of adhering to logistics cargo handling procedures while maintaining high standards of professionalism on the road.
