Help Families Access Life-Changing Autism Services
At Opal Autism Centers, every referral represents a family searching for answers and support. As our Referral Coordinator, you'll be one of the first people families and healthcare providers connect with, helping guide them from referral to care with compassion, organization, and exceptional service.
This is more than an administrative role. We're looking for someone who enjoys building relationships, connecting with medical professionals, and creating outstanding experiences for both families and referral partners. You'll spend time cultivating relationships with physicians, pediatricians, therapists, schools, and community providers while ensuring every referral moves efficiently through the admissions process.
What You'll Do
Serve as the primary point of contact for new referrals from physicians, schools, therapy providers, insurance partners, and families.
Build and maintain strong relationships with referral sources through ongoing communication, community events, and in-person visits to provider offices.
Represent Opal Autism Centers professionally within the community and educate providers about our autism diagnostic and ABA therapy services.
Travel regularly to physician offices, pediatric practices, therapy clinics, hospitals, schools, and other referral partners to strengthen existing relationships and develop new referral opportunities.
Respond to referral inquiries promptly while providing compassionate support to families throughout the intake process.
Verify insurance information and collect required documentation to ensure referrals are processed efficiently.
Coordinate closely with admissions, authorizations, scheduling, and clinical teams to ensure a seamless transition from referral to services.
Maintain accurate referral records within CentralReach and track referral activity from initial inquiry through admission.
Provide timely referral status updates to providers and maintain excellent communication throughout the referral process.
Identify opportunities to improve referral workflows and enhance the overall referral experience.
What We're Looking For
Experience in healthcare, behavioral health, physician relations, admissions, intake coordination, referral management, or a similar role.
Outstanding relationship-building and communication skills.
Comfortable networking and visiting healthcare provider offices throughout the community.
Strong organizational skills with exceptional attention to detail.
Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Experience using electronic medical records (CentralReach experience is a plus).
Experience working with autism services, pediatric healthcare, or therapy services is preferred.
Bilingual English/Spanish is a plus.
Why You'll Love This Role
Build meaningful relationships with physicians and community partners.
Make a direct impact by helping families access autism services sooner.
Enjoy a balance of remote work and community outreach.
Collaborate with an experienced admissions and clinical team.
Be part of a growing organization dedicated to improving the lives of children with autism and their families.
