Duties

• Stock shelves accurately and efficiently, ensuring products are organized and well-presented to maximize sales.
• Operate the point-of-sale (POS) system for retail sales transactions, including cash handling and processing payments.
• Assist customers with product inquiries, product demos, and upselling opportunities to enhance their shopping experience.
• Maintain clean and orderly merchandising displays that attract customer attention and promote featured items.
• Manage inventory levels by monitoring stock levels, replenishing shelves, and coordinating with supervisors on restocking needs.
• Provide excellent customer service by greeting shoppers, answering questions, and guiding them through store offerings using effective communication skills.
• Handle phone inquiries professionally, providing information about products or store services while maintaining courteous phone etiquette.

Skills

• Proven experience in retail sales transactions using POS systems and cash handling procedures.
• Supervising experience or leadership skills to assist in training new team members or managing daily store operations.
• Ability to perform retail math accurately for pricing, discounts, and inventory management.
• Strong communication skills in English; bilingual abilities are a plus for serving diverse customers effectively.
• Knowledge of merchandising techniques and product placement strategies to boost sales.
• Experience in stocking shelves, managing inventory, and maintaining organized displays in a grocery or retail environment.
• Customer service expertise with a friendly attitude that fosters positive shopping experiences.
• Familiarity with upselling techniques and product demos to increase sales opportunities.
• Phone etiquette skills for professional communication with customers and vendors.
