Role and Responsibilities

• Inspect, service, and repair diesel-powered waste collection vehicles and heavy equipment
• Use diagnostic tools to identify mechanical and electrical issues
• Perform preventive maintenance including oil changes, brake servicing, and tire repairs
• Repair and maintain engines, transmissions, hydraulic systems, and electrical components
• Complete work orders and maintain accurate maintenance and repair records
• Ensure all vehicles meet DOT safety and compliance standards
• Follow company maintenance schedules, safety procedures, and operational guidelines
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment

Required Skills and Qualifications

• Experience working with diesel engines and heavy-duty equipment
• Strong diagnostic and troubleshooting skills for mechanical and electrical systems
• Knowledge of hydraulic, brake, and drivetrain systems
• Proficiency with hand tools, diagnostic equipment, and shop machinery
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety compliance
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks efficiently
• Understanding of DOT regulations and safety standards

Preferred Qualifications

• ASE certification or willingness to obtain certification
• Experience in fleet maintenance or heavy-duty truck repair
• Ability to work flexible shifts, including evenings or overnights
• Interest in advancing into leadership or supervisory roles

Compensation and Benefits

• Hourly pay typically ranges from $28-$40, based on experience and location
