Diesel Truck Technician

Jim Hawk Truck Trailers, Inc. of Kansas City, Missouri has an immediate opening for a full-time experienced, self-motivated, and hard-working diesel truck technician. This is a great opportunity for the right person, with at least two years of diesel truck repair experience preferred.

Major job duties include:

• Servicing trucks and completing inspections per DOT requirements
• Performing preventative maintenance tasks such as oil changes, fluid level checks, inspection of components, etc.
• General maintenance on electrical, HVAC, brakes, and accessory systems
• Inspecting, diagnosing, and repairing mechanical, electrical, and other defects
• Assembling, disassembling, and replacing major assemblies (such as power and drive trains, fuel, emission, hydraulics, etc.)
• Repairing and/or replacing worn or damaged parts/components such as clutches, injectors, engine parts, cooling systems, refrigeration units, etc.
• Maintaining vehicle records by documenting services and repairs
• Other duties as assigned

Skills and Qualifications:

• High school Diploma or equivalent
• Strong mechanical aptitude and knowledge of diesel engine operation
• Proficiency with diagnostic tools and computer systems
• Attention to detail
• Good communication skills for interaction with customers
