Commercial Plumber - Construction/Installation
The Commercial Plumber - Construction/Installation is responsible for installing, assembling, and testing plumbing systems on commercial construction projects. This position plays a key role in delivering high-quality work in a fast-paced, non-union environment, ensuring all systems are installed safely, efficiently, and in compliance with applicable codes and company standards.
Install commercial plumbing systems including domestic water, sanitary waste and vent, storm drainage, and gas piping systems
Perform layout and takeoffs to plan installation of piping systems and equipment
Measure, cut, thread, groove, and assemble pipe using appropriate tools and equipment
Install fixtures and equipment such as water heaters, floor drains, grease interceptors, pumps, and specialty systems
Complete underground, rough-in, and finish phases of work according to project schedules
Perform system testing (pressure, leak, and operational) and assist in system start-up
Maintain productivity standards in a non-union, performance-driven environment
Ensure compliance with all plumbing codes, OSHA regulations, and company safety policies
Maintain a clean, organized, and safe job site
High school diploma or GED
Minimum 2-5 years of experience in commercial plumbing construction
Strong ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications
Knowledge of commercial plumbing systems, materials, and installation techniques
Proficiency with hand and power tools used in plumbing installation
Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a non-union environment
Strong work ethic, reliability, and commitment to quality
TN Plumbing License (Apprentice or Journeyman, if applicable)
Experience with large-scale commercial projects (e.g., hospitals, schools, office buildings, retail, industrial facilities)
Experience with equipment setting and mechanical room installations
Commercial plumbing expertise
Active commercial construction job sites (new construction and tenant build-outs)
Exposure to indoor and outdoor environments, including varying weather conditions
Fast-paced, schedule-driven, non-union work environment
Use of personal protective equipment (PPE) required at all times
Ability to work in confined spaces, elevated areas, and on ladders/scaffolding
Manual dexterity to safely operate tools and equipment
Reporting Structure
Reports to the Field Project Manager
Works closely with Project Managers, Field Supervisors, and other trades
