Position Overview: As a Certified Veterinary Technician, you will play a crucial role in providing exceptional veterinary care at our Vetco Total Care full-service hospital. Your dedication to both patients and their owners will set the tone for our technical and customer support team, ensuring every visit is memorable and effective.

Key Responsibilities:

• Welcome clients and their pets, guide them to exam rooms, record vital signs, and document patient history in our electronic medical record system.
• Assist veterinarians during appointments, surgeries, dentistry, and euthanasia with professionalism and care.
• Perform patient restraint, collect and process laboratory samples, dispense medications as directed, and maintain accurate patient records.
• Prepare patients for surgeries or dental procedures and monitor anesthetized patients, checking vital parameters under veterinary supervision.
• Administer in-hospital treatments for sick animals and ensure their comfort and care.
• Train new team members and share your knowledge to foster a collaborative learning environment.
• Maintain a clean hospital environment and perform necessary cleaning according to a predetermined schedule.

Qualifications:

• Completion of college or equivalent education necessary for credentialing as a Veterinary Technician in your state.
• A minimum of 1 year of experience in a veterinary setting.
• Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal.
• A compassionate professional, able to maintain composure during stressful situations.
• Strong team player who is open to learning and adapting to new practices.

Work Environment: This role typically occurs within our Vetco Total Care full-service hospital, where you will spend significant time interacting with clients and their pets. Tasks will involve bending, kneeling, lifting up to 30 pounds, and standing for extended periods.
