Farmers Market Representative Purposed Schedule Tuesdays only, 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM Year-round, in all seasons and weather conditions. Drivers License is required with clean drivers record. Second Daughter is a values-driven bakery located in South Philadelphia's Bok Building, known for our Best of Philly brownies, Eater-recognized Brown Butter Choc Chip Jawn, house-made focaccia, and seasonal pastries. Led by James Beard Award Semifinalist for Outstanding Baker Rhonda Saltzman, we're committed to making exceptional food and creating a welcoming experience for our customers and community. We're looking for a dependable, friendly, and hardworking Farmers Market Representative to join our team at the Rittenhouse Farmers Market every Tuesday. About the Role You'll be the face of Second Daughter at one of Philadelphia's busiest farmers markets. This is an independent, customer-facing position that includes loading products at the bakery, driving a company vehicle to and from the market, setting up and breaking down the booth, serving customers, and handling sales throughout the day. We're looking for someone who enjoys talking with people, takes pride in staying organized, and can be counted on to show up ready to work every Tuesday. Please note: This position requires driving a company vehicle. Applicants must have a valid driver's license and a clean driving record. ResponsibilitiesBefore Market Load products, tables, tent, signage, and supplies into the company vehicle Verify product counts and communicate any discrepancies before leaving the bakery Ensure temperature-sensitive items are packed appropriately Transport products and equipment safely to the market During Market Set up and break down the market booth Arrange products neatly and maintain an attractive display throughout the day Greet customers and provide warm, knowledgeable service Answer questions about products, ingredients, and allergens Process transactions using Square, including cash, credit cards, and mobile payments Maintain cleanliness and organization throughout the shift Communicate customer feedback and product sellouts to the bakery team Represent Second Daughter professionally to customers, vendors, and market staff After Market Return products and equipment to the bakery Clean and organize market supplies Complete end-of-day cash and sales procedures Who You Are Friendly, outgoing, and comfortable talking with customers Reliable, punctual, and accountable Organized and detail-oriented Comfortable working independently for the duration of the market day Calm under pressure during busy rushes Able to follow systems and procedures consistently A strong communicator who represents Second Daughter with professionalism and kindness Requirements Valid driver's license with a clean driving record required Comfortable driving a cargo van or similar vehicle in city traffic Able to lift 50 pounds repeatedly throughout the day Able to stand, bend, walk, and carry throughout an active 8.5-hour shift Available every Tuesday, year-round Previous customer service, retail, hospitality, or farmers market experience preferred Why Work With Us We're a small team that believes in making great food and treating people well.
