32-34/hr + 910/week Per Diem

Job Title: Electrical Technician

Job Description

This role focuses on electrical wiring and assembly of large control panels for specialized OEM machinery. You will read and interpret wiring schematics and diagrams, run PLC cables, and mount electrical components while working with a range of voltages up to 480V. The position requires strong hands-on experience with electrical panel control wiring, switchgear, and three-phase power installations in a clean, modern production environment.

Responsibilities

  • Perform electrical panel control wiring and assembly for customer products and OEM machinery.
  • Read, understand, and interpret electrical schematics, wiring schedules, and point-to-point diagrams.
  • Run PLC cables and mount electrical components accurately according to engineering documentation.
  • Wire high and low voltage machinery ranging from 12V, 24V, 120V, 240V, up to 480V.
  • Install and wire electrical switchgear and three-phase electrical power systems.
  • Mount panels and ensure secure, neat, and code-compliant electrical assemblies.
  • Support installation and wiring of PLCs, servo drives, vision systems, and photo eyes.
  • Verify wiring connections for proper function and assist in troubleshooting as needed.
  • Follow safety procedures and best practices when working with high and low voltage equipment.
  • Collaborate with team members and supervisors to meet production schedules and quality standards.

Essential Skills

  • Proven experience performing electrical wiring and assembly of large control panels.
  • Ability to read, understand, and interpret electrical schematics, wiring schedules, and point-to-point diagrams.
  • Hands-on experience wiring high and low voltage machinery from 12V to 480V.
  • Proficient knowledge of electrical switchgear and three-phase electrical power installations.
  • Experience running PLC cables and mounting electrical components.
  • Strong knowledge in electrical assembly, conduit work, and panel building/wiring.
  • Demonstrated ability to work safely with live electrical systems and multiple voltage levels.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy in wiring, labeling, and panel layout.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Experience mounting and running cables for vision systems, photo eyes, and servo drives.
  • Experience with PLC installation and integration into control panels.
  • experience working with one-of-a-kind or custom OEM machinery.
  • Comfort working in a fast-paced environment with changing work orders.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with engineering and production teams.

Work Environment

The role is based in a clean, well-lit facility working on new equipment and custom OEM machinery. The company operates multiple shifts, including a first shift from 6:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. with overtime available, and a second shift from 2:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. with overtime opportunities. You will work in a production environment that emphasizes organization, safety, and quality, using modern tools and technologies to build and wire electrical control panels.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract position based out of Detroit, MI.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $32.00 - $34.00/hr.
