Professional Painter

Job Location: Lansing, MI - Alaiedon Township, MI

Position Overview

We are seeking a dedicated Professional Painter to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for transforming the interiors and exteriors of buildings and surfaces through skilled painting. You will select suitable materials, prepare surfaces meticulously, and apply finishes that showcase your expertise. Key Responsibilities

• Interpret blueprints and instructions while assessing surfaces to determine the scope of work needed.
• Prepare on-site by constructing scaffolding and protecting fixtures from paint.
• Skillfully prepare walls and surfaces by scraping, sanding, and taping as necessary.
• Fill cracks and holes with appropriate materials for a seamless finish.
• Mix paints and materials to achieve desired colors and textures.
• Apply paint using various tools and techniques according to specifications.
• Finish with varnishes, sealants, and other protective coatings.
• Follow all health and safety regulations to ensure a safe work environment.
• Keep job sites and company vehicles clean and organized.
• Participate in after-hours emergency on-call rotations as required.
• Assist with additional projects and duties as assigned.

Experience and Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED is required.
• At least 1 year of professional painting experience is preferred.
• Knowledge of commercial and/or construction painting techniques is essential.
• Experience in construction, restoration, or the insurance industry is a plus.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality is critical.
• Must be literate in English and possess good communication skills.
• Ability to multitask and thrive in a fast-paced work environment.
• Must work well under time constraints and meet deadlines.
• A valid driver’s license is required.

Additional Requirements

• Must pass a background check.
• Require a clean driving record.
• Must be authorized to work in the United States.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to lift weights ranging from 5-40 lbs. unassisted.
• Capability to sit, stand, bend, crouch, and move throughout the workday as necessary.
• Manual dexterity is required for repetitive tasks and use of painting tools.

Compensation and Benefits

Our Client offers competitive pay and a comprehensive benefits package, including medical, dental, vision, disability, life insurance, Employee Assistance Program, paid holidays, paid time off, and a 401(k) with company match.

• Pay range: $20.00 - $28.00 per hour, based on experience.
• Employees typically work around 45 hours per week.
• Overtime opportunities are available.
• Mandatory on-call rotation is required, with additional pay for after-hours calls:
• $25 per call Monday-Friday
• $50 per call on weekends
• Additional on-call compensation is provided on top of the hourly rate.
• A company-provided branded work van will be assigned for business use.
