Position Summary:

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Inside Account Manager to support our growing Information Technology Value Added Reseller (VAR) business. This role is responsible for managing customer relationships, developing sales opportunities, preparing accurate technology solutions and pricing, and supporting the outside sales team throughout the sales cycle.

The ideal candidate will possess strong technical product knowledge, excellent communication skills, and the ability to configure and price complex IT solutions from leading manufacturers. Success in this position requires exceptional organizational skills, CRM proficiency, advanced Excel capabilities, and the ability to create professional customer presentations.

Sales and Account Management

Manage and grow existing customer accounts through proactive communication and relationship-building.

Identify new sales opportunities within existing accounts and assist in developing net-new business.

Support outside sales representatives with quotes, proposals, product recommendations, and customer follow-up.

Maintain a high level of customer satisfaction by providing timely responses and exceptional service.

Coordinate with manufacturers, distributors, and internal teams to ensure accurate solution delivery.

Solution Design and Pricing

Configure, quote, and price technology solutions across multiple manufacturers and product lines.

Develop competitive and profitable proposals while ensuring solution accuracy.

Work closely with vendors and distribution partners to obtain pricing, special bids, promotions, and deal registrations.

Maintain knowledge of current technology products, licensing models, and solution offerings.

Manufacture Expertise

The successful candidate should have experience or the ability to quickly develop expertise in solutions from leading technology manufacturers including:

  • Cisco
  • Hewlett Packard Enterprise (HPE)
  • Aruba Networks
  • Juniper Networks
  • Fortinet
  • Verkada
  • Rhombus Systems
  • Additional networking, security, cloud, and infrastructure manufacturers as required

CRM and Sales Operations

Maintain accurate customer records, opportunities, activities, and forecasts within the CRM platform.

Track sales pipeline activity and provide updates to management.

Ensure all customer interactions, quotes, and opportunities are properly documented.

Generate reports and analyze sales performance metrics.

Reporting and Presentations

Create professional customer-facing presentations, proposals, and solution overviews.

Utilize Excel for pricing analysis, margin calculations, reporting, and sales tracking.

Prepare business reviews and account summaries for customers and management.

Required Experience

3+ years of inside sales, account management, sales support, or technology sales experience.

Experience working for an IT Value Added Reseller (VAR), Managed Service Provider (MSP), technology distributor, or technology manufacturer preferred.

Experience quoting and pricing IT hardware, software, networking, security, and physical security solutions.

Technical Knowledge

Understanding of networking, cybersecurity, wireless, cloud, infrastructure, and physical security solutions.

Familiarity with vendor programs, deal registration processes, and distributor relationships.

Ability to interpret technical requirements and translate them into customer solutions.

Skills

Strong CRM experience (Salesforce, HubSpot, ConnectWise, or similar platforms).

Advanced Microsoft Excel skills including formulas, pivot tables, reporting, and data analysis.

Excellent Microsoft PowerPoint and presentation development skills.

Strong written and verbal communication abilities.

Exceptional organizational and time-management skills.

Ability to manage multiple quotes, opportunities, and deadlines simultaneously.

Strong attention to detail and accuracy.

Preferred Qualifications

Vendor certifications or training from Cisco, HPE, Aruba, Juniper, Fortinet, Verkada, Axis, or similar manufacturers.
