Job Summary:
Cardiac Catheterization Laboratory Technologist in Raleigh, North Carolina. This position involves documenting patient histories and physical assessments for those undergoing procedures within the cath lab. The technologist will explain procedures and treatments to patients, assist in preparing patients for procedures, operate diagnostic imaging equipment, and monitor patient vital signs during cardiac catheterizations. The role supports physicians during diagnostic and interventional procedures, ensuring compliance with departmental policies and providing technical assistance as needed.
Job Details:
- Schedule: 12-hour shifts, rotating days of the week, with a minimum of 36 hours per week.
- Required Qualifications: Associate's degree or graduation from a cardiovascular related program; current certifications including RCIS, RRT, RDCS; at least one year of experience in invasive procedures or two years of relevant healthcare experience; ability to read, analyze, and interpret medical and technical documents; effective communication and mathematical skills; reasoning ability and problem-solving skills to analyze technical instructions and clinical situations.
- Preferred Qualifications: ACLS, ARRT, RESP CARE certifications.
- Responsibilities: Document patient assessments, explain procedures and treatments, prepare patients, operate diagnostic imaging and physiologic monitoring equipment, observe and record patient reactions, communicate with physicians regarding patient status, assist in diagnostic and interventional procedures, and ensure regulatory compliance.
- Schedule: 12-hour shifts, rotating days, with a minimum of 36 hours per week.
- Additional Information: The position involves operating complex diagnostic and physiologic monitoring equipment, providing technical assistance to physicians, and adhering to all departmental and regulatory policies.
