Now Hiring: 1st Shift Assembler

$20 - $24/hr

Job Description

Under limited supervision and following thorough training, the Assembler performs a wide variety of electronic, electro-mechanical, mechanical, and measurement product assembly operations on components, assemblies, and subassemblies. This role follows established methods and sequences of operations to carry out wiring, component installation, hand soldering, cable harnessing, welding, and fitting on complex assembly units while maintaining tight tolerances to blueprint specifications.

Responsibilities

  • Perform complex electronic and electro-mechanical assembly work that requires strong manipulative and fine motor skills.
  • Carry out soldering, mechanical assembly, and production build-up of prototype and production units composed of complex parts and components.
  • Work from complex schematics, engineering drawings, detailed work instructions, wire lists, and other written, video, or verbal instructions to assemble, modify, or rework a variety of complex assemblies and subassemblies in both repetitive and non-repetitive work.
  • Make setups and adjustments on assemblies while holding tolerances to blueprint and specification requirements.
  • Analyze assembly techniques, methods, and systems and proactively suggest process improvements to the Production Lead.
  • Follow established test procedures and operate test equipment on assemblies and subassemblies under limited supervision.
  • Adhere to standard safety standard operating procedures (SOPs) in the work area and recommend enhancements to the safety and quality teams.
  • Support preparation activities for ISO audits and inventory audits.
  • Inspect assemblies for defects, verify proper operation, and ensure quality standards are met.
  • Identify problems in assembly processes or product build and suggest practical improvements.
  • Collaborate effectively with clients, engineers, and production staff, listening carefully to understand different perspectives, including during stressful scenarios.
  • Work independently to meet production schedules and deadlines while maintaining high quality and documentation standards.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned to support production and continuous improvement initiatives.

Essential Skills

  • 3–5 years of electro-mechanical assembly experience.
  • Experience working in a regulated industry such as aerospace, medical devices, or semiconductor manufacturing.
  • Strong mechanical assembly skills, including the ability to work with complex parts and components.
  • Proficient documentation skills to accurately record work performed and follow established procedures.
  • Ability to read and carefully follow detailed instructions, schematics, drawings, wire lists, and work instructions.
  • Strong troubleshooting abilities in mechanical and electrical assembly environments.
  • Ability to check for defects and distinguish between colors for inspection and quality control.
  • Good fine motor skills to perform precise and detailed assembly work.
  • Strong written and verbal English communication skills for effective interaction with team members and stakeholders.
  • Excellent attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
  • Capability to work independently while adhering to a production schedule.
  • Comfortable identifying and articulating potential solutions to a diverse group of stakeholders.
  • Ability to listen actively and understand the perspectives of clients, engineers, and production staff, including in high-pressure situations.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and work in standing, kneeling, or reclining positions as required by the task.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • BG in regulated manufacturing environments such as aerospace, medical, or semiconductor is strongly preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to suggest improvements to assembly techniques, methods, and systems.
  • Familiarity with standard safety SOPs and quality practices, including ISO-related processes.
  • Comfort working within a small, collaborative team environment.
  • Experience operating test equipment and following formal test procedures.
  • Strong problem-solving mindset with a focus on continuous improvement.
  • Ability to maintain composure and communicate clearly during stressful or time-sensitive production scenarios.
