New Tech Global is seeking a Saw Machinist for a client located in Cedar Park, TX. This if for a 90 day contract.
We are seeking a CNC Saw Operator to join our manufacturing team on a temporary night-shift assignment in Cedar Park, TX. In this role, you will be responsible for setting up and operating manual, semi-automatic, and automatic-feed band saws while supporting machining operations throughout the production process. The ideal candidate can effectively manage multiple machines simultaneously, maintain quality and productivity standards, perform inspections, and assist with secondary finishing operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Set up, operate, and monitor manual, semi-automatic, and automatic-feed band saws with minimal supervision.
- Safely manage multiple saws concurrently while maintaining production efficiency and product quality.
- Prioritize work according to production schedules and dispatch reports to ensure timely completion of customer orders.
- Independently organize daily workload, machine utilization, and workflow requirements.
- Interpret blueprints, work orders, routers, and cut lists to determine job specifications.
- Calculate cut lengths and material usage using basic mathematical principles.
- Adjust blade speeds, feed rates, and cutting parameters based on material type, dimensions, and alloy requirements.
- Perform first-article, in-process, and final inspections using precision measuring instruments to verify compliance with specifications.
- Confirm material dimensions and cut lengths meet engineering and customer requirements.
- Load, unload, and stage materials using overhead cranes and other material-handling equipment.
- Support CNC machining operations by ensuring a continuous supply of properly prepared material.
- Perform secondary operations including deburring, polishing, cleaning, and pin stamping of finished parts.
- Inspect and replace saw blades as needed and make machine setup adjustments to maintain performance.
- Conduct routine preventive maintenance such as cleaning, lubrication, and equipment inspections.
- Identify equipment issues, excessive blade wear, and quality concerns before they impact production.
- Segregate and report nonconforming materials in accordance with established procedures.
- Maintain organized work areas in compliance with 5S and workplace organization standards.
- Complete production documentation and work order records accurately.
- Maintain a safe, clean, and organized work environment.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
- Follow all company safety, quality, environmental, and operational policies and procedures.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED preferred.
- Minimum two years of experience in manufacturing, machining, metal fabrication, saw operation, or a related industrial environment.
- Experience setting up and operating manual and/or automatic-feed saws.
- Ability to manage multiple machines simultaneously in a production setting.
- Experience performing dimensional inspections using precision measuring tools and handheld metrology equipment.
- Experience operating overhead cranes and material-handling equipment preferred.
- Previous experience supporting CNC machining operations is a plus.
- Strong attention to detail, mechanical aptitude, and commitment to workplace safety.
