Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate assistance with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support
- Assist with medication administration following prescribed schedules and protocols while ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations for patient privacy
- Support clients with specialized needs such as Alzheimer’s care, dementia care, hospice care, or memory care through tailored activities and emotional support
- Operate medical equipment such as Hoyer lifts, catheters, and other assistive devices safely and effectively
- Prepare nutritious meals and assist with light housekeeping tasks including cleaning and laundry to maintain a safe and comfortable environment
- Document all patient interactions accurately in medical records and communicate effectively with healthcare teams regarding patient status
Requirements
- Prior experience in home health, assisted living, nursing homes, or long-term care settings preferred
- Certifications such as CPR (Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation) ; additional certifications like HIPAA training or hospice care are a plus
- Ability to work independently while following detailed care plans; flexibility to accommodate live-in employment or shift work as needed
- Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities or disabilities is highly valued
- Strong communication skills to engage empathetically with clients and coordinate with healthcare professionals
- Reliable transportation preferred for community-based visits
