Forklift Operator/ Assembler

Responsibilities

• Safely operate various types of forklifts including reach trucks, clamp trucks, Hi-Lo, and pallet jacks to load, unload, and transport materials within the warehouse.
• Perform order picking using equipment such as pickers and ensure accurate selection for shipping orders.
• Assist in assembly tasks by following detailed instructions to assemble products or components efficiently.
• Conduct routine equipment repairs and maintenance checks on forklifts and other heavy machinery to ensure optimal performance.
• Manage shipping and receiving processes by verifying inbound and outbound shipments, maintaining proper documentation within the warehouse management system (WMS).
• Handle materials with precision, including heavy lifting and proper load securing techniques to ensure safety and efficiency.
• Support warehouse management system updates, inventory control, and warehouse distribution activities to streamline operations.

Qualifications

• Proven experience operating forklifts such as reach trucks, clamp trucks, Hi-Lo forklifts, or similar heavy equipment.
• Familiarity with warehouse management systems (WMS), order picking procedures, and inventory control practices.
• Mechanical knowledge related to equipment repair and basic troubleshooting skills.
• Strong understanding of OSHA safety standards for warehouse operations and heavy equipment operation.
• Ability to perform physical tasks including heavy lifting, stacking pallets, and materials handling throughout the shift.
• Basic math skills for inventory counts, measurements, and documentation accuracy.
• Previous experience in shipping & receiving or warehouse distribution is highly desirable.
