Job Description:

A home health care respiratory therapist provides patient care for people suffering from chronic or acute respiratory illnesses. When providing care in a home setting, you offer services that improve a disease sufferer’s quality of life through therapy, medications, and the use of specialized equipment. Your job duties may include assessing patient condition, inspecting and cleaning equipment, teaching the patient and caregivers how to use breathing devices such as ventilators or oxygen, and providing breathing therapy.

Requirements

• Valid Respiratory Therapist license or certification as required by state regulations.
• Strong knowledge of physiology related to respiratory function and disease processes.
• Experience in a hospital setting, particularly within ICU or PICU environments, is preferred.
• Proficiency in basic life support techniques and airway management skills.
• Ability to assess patients effectively and respond promptly to changing clinical situations.
• Excellent communication skills for interacting with patients, families, and healthcare team members.
• Commitment to continuous professional development and staying current with advancements in respiratory therapy practices.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $30.00 - $38.00 per hour
