Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Veterinary Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong passion for animal care and welfare, along with the technical skills necessary to support veterinarians in providing high-quality medical care. As a Veterinary Technician, you will play a vital role in the health and well-being of our animal patients, working closely with both the veterinary team and pet owners.
Duties
- Assist veterinarians during examinations and surgical procedures.
- Perform diagnostic tests including X-rays and laboratory work.
- Administer medications, vaccines, and treatments as prescribed.
- Monitor animal patients pre- and post-operatively.
- Maintain accurate medical records and documentation for each patient.
- Provide education to pet owners regarding animal care, nutrition, and preventive health measures.
- Handle dogs and other animals safely and effectively during examinations or procedures.
- Utilize aseptic techniques to ensure a sterile environment during surgeries.
- Assist with dental cleanings and procedures, understanding dental terminology relevant to veterinary practice.
- Conduct routine grooming tasks as needed to maintain the hygiene of animal patients.
- Work together with team.
Qualifications
- Strong knowledge of animal physiology, anatomy, and behavior.
- Experience with animal catheterization techniques is a plus.
- Proficiency in laboratory procedures relevant to veterinary medicine.
- Familiarity with pet grooming practices is advantageous.
- Excellent communication skills for interacting with pet owners and team members.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
- A compassionate approach towards animals and their owners is essential.
