Medical Assistant – Primary Care / Family Practice

Urgently hiring Full-time | 4 ten-hour shifts | Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday

Work one-on-one with a single provider in your own dedicated clinical space.

We are seeking a skilled Medical Assistant to join our private primary care family practice. This full-time position offers a consistent schedule of four 10-hour shifts with Wednesdays off, allowing for better work–life balance. You will work exclusively with one provider and have your own designated office and exam space, supporting efficient workflows and personalized patient care.

This role provides the depth and continuity of true primary care, including preventive care, chronic disease management, and acute visits without rotating providers or shared workspaces.

Primary Care Medical Assistant ResponsibilitiesDirect Clinical Support

  • Partner one-on-one with a single provider to support daily patient care
  • Obtain and document vital signs, chief complaints, and verify medications
  • Prepare patients and your assigned exam room for visits and procedures
  • Assist during examinations and minor procedures common to primary care
  • Administer immunizations and injections per protocol
  • Perform specimen collection (urine, swabs) with accurate labeling and handling
  • Conduct in-office testing including EKGs and pulmonary function tests (PFTs)
  • Perform and document basic laboratory testing and route results appropriately
  • Reinforce provider instructions and assist with patient education

Preventive and Chronic Care Support

  • Support annual physicals, Medicare wellness visits, and preventive screenings
  • Assist with chronic disease management such as hypertension, diabetes, and asthma
  • Track labs, referrals, and follow-up needs to support continuity of care
  • Identify abnormal findings and escalate concerns promptly

Clinical Operations

  • Maintain your own office and exam space, ensuring cleanliness, organization, and readiness
  • Manage room turnover, equipment setup, and clinical supplies
  • Ensure adherence to infection control, safety, and HIPAA standards
  • Document all care accurately in the electronic health record (EHR)

Patient Communication and Workflow

  • Support appointment scheduling and visit coordination
  • Answer phones and triage patient requests appropriately
  • Communicate clearly with patients and your assigned provider to ensure smooth care delivery

Qualifications

  • Graduate of an accredited Medical Assistant program
  • Certified or Registered Medical Assistant (CMA/RMA) required
  • Prior experience in primary care or family medicine preferred
  • Strong hands-on clinical skills relevant to outpatient primary care
  • Knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, and preventive care guidelines
  • Highly organized, dependable, and comfortable working independently
  • Proficiency with EHR systems
  • Strong communication skills and professional bedside manner
  • Commitment to patient-centered care and clinical excellence
