Assistant Store Manager – Retail Hardware & Home Center
Location: Builders Supply & Home Center – Airway Heights, WA

Builders Supply & Home Center is seeking an experienced Assistant Store Manager to help lead our retail operation. This position is ideal for someone with a proven background in retail management who enjoys leading a team, delivering outstanding customer service, and maintaining a well-organized, high-performing store.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist with the day-to-day management of store operations, including opening and closing procedures.
- Must have open availability and be able to work weekends.
- Supervise, coach, train, and motivate store employees.
- Deliver exceptional customer service and professionally resolve customer concerns.
- Assist with employee scheduling and daily workflow.
- Maintain inventory levels and assist with ordering merchandise.
- Ensure shelves, displays, and promotional areas are fully stocked, organized, and properly merchandised.
- Monitor sales performance and help achieve store sales goals.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and professional shopping environment.
- Handle cash register operations, cash handling, and daily cash reconciliation.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, safety procedures, and operational standards.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of 3 years of retail experience is required.
- Previous retail supervisory, key holder, assistant manager, or management experience is required.
- Strong merchandising knowledge and retail presentation skills.
- Excellent customer service, communication, and leadership abilities.
- Strong organizational, multitasking, and problem-solving skills.
- Basic computer proficiency and inventory management experience.
- Forklift certification preferred or ability to become certified.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and stand, walk, and work throughout the day.
- Excellent attendance record and dependable work ethic.
- Experience in a hardware, lumberyard, farm & ranch, home improvement, or building materials environment is highly preferred, but not required.
