Summary of Duties:
The Electrical Field Operations Manager provides strategic leadership and oversight of all electrical field operations to ensure projects are executed safely, efficiently, on schedule, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. This role is responsible for developing and leading Superintendents, General Foremen, and field leadership teams while driving workforce planning, productivity, safety performance, customer satisfaction, and operational excellence. The Electrical Field Operations Manager serves as a key partner to Project Management, Preconstruction, Safety, and Executive Leadership to support business growth and achieve organizational objectives.
Primary Responsibilities
- Provide leadership and direction for all electrical field operations.
- Establish and maintain field performance standards, expectations, and accountability.
- Ensure consistent execution of company policies, procedures, and operational best practices.
- Promote a culture of safety, quality, productivity, professionalism, and continuous improvement.
- Support project teams in resolving complex field and operational challenges.
- Lead workforce planning and manpower forecasting efforts across all electrical projects.
- Optimize labor allocation to maximize productivity and project performance.
- Coordinate with Recruiting, Workforce Development, and Operations to address current and future labor needs.
- Monitor workforce utilization and develop strategies to improve labor efficiency.
- Ensure proper staffing levels and skill mix across projects.
- Develop and mentor Superintendents, General Foremen, Foremen, and emerging field leaders.
- Establish succession plans for key field leadership positions.
- Conduct regular field leadership meetings, coaching sessions, and performance reviews.
- Support apprenticeship development and workforce training initiatives.
- Foster a culture of accountability, leadership, and professional growth.
- Monitor project execution, labor productivity, schedules, quality, and safety performance.
- Partner with Project Managers and Operations Leaders to ensure successful project outcomes.
- Identify and mitigate project risks impacting schedule, cost, labor, or customer satisfaction.
- Participate in project reviews and operational planning meetings.
- Support recovery planning for underperforming projects.
- Champion the company’s safety culture and ensure compliance with all safety policies and regulatory requirements.
- Review safety performance metrics and implement corrective actions as necessary.
- Conduct field visits, audits, and safety observations.
- Support incident investigations and root cause analysis.
- Ensure all field personnel receive required safety training and development.
- Establish and maintain electrical installation quality standards.
- Monitor and improve labor productivity and operational efficiency.
