Position: Busser - Snow City Cafe

Bussers (Part Time) - Snow City Cafe

The busser is responsible for providing support to the servers, bartenders, and other staff as needed. The basic duties include clearing, cleaning, and resetting tables, transporting bus tubs and glass racks to the dish room, pre-bussing tables, and re‑stocking glasses and silverware. The busser also maintains the cleanliness of the restaurant throughout their shift, handling many behind‑the‑scenes tasks.

The role requires strong multi‑tasking skills, the ability to keep pace in a busy environment, and efficient time management—especially during solo shifts and peak hours. Bussers help maintain the overall pace and flow of the dining room.

Operations

• Make sure that the dining areas are ready for service
• Know all table numbers and server sections
• Takes ownership of the look and cleanliness of the tables in the restaurant
• Pre‑bus continuously, pick up floor trash, straighten tables and chairs as needed
• Completes all opening, ongoing, and closing side work
• Clears, cleans, and resets tables efficiently and effectively, including sweeping under tables when needed
• Manages and changes the sani‑bucket every two hours and manages towels as required
• Sets up incoming bussers for success by restocking and communicating with the incoming staff
• Answers guest questions if possible or immediately routes to the server or MOD
• Keeps ice in the server/bar stations well stocked
• Sorts dirty dishes and flatware to appropriate locations, scrapes remaining food off dishes, and stacks them orderly
• Polishes glassware and silverware as needed
• Occasionally mops up spills and broken glass, and cleans up any messes that may occur during business hours

Other Qualifications

• Must be at least 16 years of age
• Must be able to communicate, write, and understand English
• Must have a current Municipality of Anchorage Food Worker Card

Compensation - $14 hourly, non‑exempt.
