Make a meaningful impact supporting middle school students as a Speech-Language Pathology Assistant (SLPA) for the 2024-2025 school year! This full-time contract position is ideal for someone passionate about fostering communication skills in an educational setting, working with 5th-8th grade students in a supportive school environment.
Key Qualifications:
- Active SLPA license in Massachusetts
- Experience or strong interest in working with school-aged children, especially grades 5-8
- Understanding of speech/language development and common disorders
- Ability to collaborate effectively with SLPs, educators, and families
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication abilities
- Adaptable approach and positive attitude
Role Responsibilities:
- Work under the supervision of a licensed Speech-Language Pathologist to implement individualized therapy plans
- Provide direct speech-language services to a caseload of approximately 15-20 students
- Collect data, maintain documentation, and assist with progress reporting
- Support students in improving their communication, social, and language skills for academic and personal success
- Participate in team meetings and collaborate on goals for students' Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
- Communicate updates and progress with supervising SLP and school staff
