Penmac Education Staffing is hiring an Education Coordinator to support substitute staffing operations for a school partner in Springfield, MO. As an Education Coordinator, you are the connection point between schools, substitute teachers, and the day-to-day staffing needs that keep classrooms running smoothly. You’ll coordinate substitute coverage, support school staff, and ensure every assignment is filled with the right person at the right time.

This role blends scheduling, recruiting, and customer service. One minute you’re filling an early morning absence. The next, you’re helping a substitute get ready for their assignment or supporting a school with a last-minute need. It’s fast-paced, people-focused, and plays a key role in supporting students and educators every day.

Schedule: Monday–Friday | 6:00 AM–2:00 PM

Contract: 11-month (August–June), renewed annually based on need and performance

What you’ll do

  • Coordinate daily substitute assignments and coverage.
  • Notify school contacts about absences and sub coverage.
  • Maintain substitute database and approved substitute files.
  • Provide updates to campus liaisons when the substitute roster changes.
  • Approve substitute payroll hours weekly.
  • Maintain daily assignment tracking for administration reference.
  • Support substitute orientations and training (attendance, updates, handouts).
  • Recruit, screen, and interview substitute candidates as needed.
  • Build relationships with school personnel and provide reliable staffing support.
  • Confirm job details and requirements with substitutes to ensure understanding.
  • Other duties as assigned.

What we’re looking for

  • High School diploma required (Associate degree or higher preferred).
  • Office or school experience preferred.
  • Strong Microsoft Office and general computer skills.
  • Organized, dependable, and able to manage time-sensitive requests.
  • Strong communication skills and customer service mindset.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality.
  • Ability to learn internal systems.
