Assignment Details
Shift: 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM
Schedule: Variable, 3x12-hour night shifts
Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend (Saturday/Sunday)
Duration: 13 weeks
Candidate Requirements
No local candidates within a 50-mile radius will be considered.
Required Certifications
•
American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS)
•
Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP)
•
AWHONN Fetal Monitoring Certification
Preferred Experience
Cerner EMR
Experience caring for patients with:
•
High-risk pregnancies
•
Preeclampsia
•
Gestational and pre-existing diabetes
•
Preterm labor
Roles & Responsibilities
•
Provide comprehensive nursing care to laboring, antepartum, and immediate postpartum patients.
•
Perform maternal and fetal assessments, including electronic fetal monitoring and interpretation of fetal heart tracings.
•
Monitor and manage high-risk obstetric conditions such as preeclampsia, diabetes, and preterm labor.
•
Administer medications, IV therapies, blood products, and treatments according to physician orders and hospital protocols.
•
Assist with labor management, induction and augmentation of labor, vaginal deliveries, and emergency obstetric situations.
•
Collaborate with obstetricians, anesthesiologists, neonatologists, and interdisciplinary healthcare teams to ensure safe patient care.
•
Provide patient and family education regarding labor, delivery, postpartum recovery, breastfeeding, and newborn care.
•
Respond rapidly to maternal or fetal emergencies and initiate appropriate interventions.
•
Accurately document assessments, interventions, medications, and outcomes in the Cerner electronic medical record (EMR).
•
Maintain compliance with patient safety, infection prevention, and regulatory standards.
