Position: Phlebotomist - Full Time - Day shift
What you'll do
- Perform venipuncture and microcollection with precision and compassion
- Ensure timely, high-quality specimen collection, processing, and distribution
- Accurately enter and maintain patient and specimen data in the Laboratory Information System (LIS)
- Perform Point‑of‑Care (POC) testing in accordance with departmental guidelines
- Serve as a Senior Phlebotomist when needed, providing guidance and support to peers

Job Description
- High school diploma or equivalent (required)
- Certified Phlebotomy Technician by NHA – National Health career Association (required)
- At least one year of hospital‑based phlebotomy experience (preferred)
Responsibilities
- Practices Universal and Standard Precautions 100% of the time.
- Utilizes the 2‑patient identifier 100% of the time according to Joint Commission patient safety guidelines. Communicates special instructions to patients.
- Performs venipuncture and microcollection according to Clinical Laboratory Standards Institutes (CLSI) guidelines, Standard Operating Procedures and Laboratory Policy as outlined in the Phlebotomy Procedure Manual. Documents specimen collection data into the LIS.
- Adheres to specimen handling and specimen transport guidelines per Departmental policy.
- Communicates effectively with all levels of the clinical staff.
- Participates in the teaching and training of new employees and students as assigned.
- Performs waived, POC testing and collects urinalysis specimens as defined by the Department.
- Works independently with minimal supervision.
- Monitors the supply par levels. Restocks supplies upon delivery.
