This position is based in our satellite production facility in Midland, TX , with full relocation provided (details below).
Position Overview
We are searching for an Environmental Test Technician II supports execution of environmental testing activities including thermal vacuum, vibration, shock, and acoustic testing. This role operates with moderate independence, contributing to test setup, execution, troubleshooting, and documentation while ensuring compliance with safety and quality standards. The Technician II is expected to have a solid technical foundation and may assist in training, as needed.
Compensation Schedule
Pay: DOE hour based on experience, with overtime opportunities. Higher-level roles are available for more experienced candidates at increased pay.
Schedule: 2nd shift Monday through Thursday, 6pm to 4am (4x10) with paid lunch and breaks .
Flexibility: Night and weekend shifts with increased pay are also available depending on experience and team needs.
What You’ll Do:
Perform environmental testing including thermal vacuum, vibration, shock, acoustic, and related tests
Set up and operate test equipment, instrumentation, and data acquisition systems
Follow established procedures, test plans, and standard operating procedures (SOPs)
Assist in planning and preparing test configurations, fixturing, and instrumentation setups
Monitor tests and record data accurately; identify and report anomalies or deviations
Troubleshoot basic to moderately complex test issues and support root cause investigations
Document test results, non-conformances, and observations in accordance with quality standards
Ensure compliance with safety, environmental, and quality requirements
Support maintenance and calibration of test equipment as needed
Assist in training and mentoring Technician I personnel
Collaborate with engineers and cross-functional teams to support test objectives
Provide hands-on support to ensure successful and timely test execution
What You Bring:
2+ years of relevant experience with an associate/trade school degree, or
3–5 years of relevant hands-on experience in lieu of formal education
Experience supporting environmental testing or similar technical operations preferred
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with environmental test methods (thermal vacuum, vibration, shock, acoustic)
Familiarity with test instrumentation, sensors, and data acquisition systems
Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and test documentation
Basic troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
