Role Overview
The Account Manager, Workplace Technology (WPT) is responsible for owning client relationships and
the end‑to‑end sales lifecycle for workplace technology solutions, with a primary emphasis on audio‑visual and collaboration systems. This role serves as the primary client advocate and commercial
lead, partnering closely with engineering, design, and project delivery teams to develop solutions that align
client needs, budgets, and business outcomes. The Account Manager plays a critical role in driving
revenue growth, ensuring a high‑touch client experience, and positioning Hyphn as a trusted workplace
technology advisor across diverse industries.
This hybrid role is based in San Diego, CA. Market familiarity will be considered. Hyphn believes in-office presence is critical for this role.
Client Strategy, Discovery & Advisory
•
Understand and clearly articulate Hyphn’s full value proposition, business units, and integrated
project delivery approach to clients.
- Lead client discovery, needs assessments, and requirements gathering to understand technical, operational, and business drivers.
- Consult clients on workplace technology solutions, with emphasis on AV, collaboration systems,
low‑voltage infrastructure, and security.
- Develop conceptual technology designs and provide budgetary guidance to help clients evaluate
and qualify investment decisions.
- Build and maintain trusted, long‑term relationships with new and existing clients, acting as the
primary point of contact throughout the sales cycle.
Sales Ownership & Business Development
- Own the full sales lifecycle from initial engagement through project close‑out and post‑project follow‑up.
- Meet or exceed annual revenue and margin targets as established by Workplace Technology
leadership.
- Lead and contribute to strategic RFP responses and complex pursuits.
- Actively develop new business through networking, events, outbound outreach, and ongoing CRM
engagement.
- Identify new verticals, markets, and engagement strategies to expand Hyphn’s workplace
technology presence.
- Pioneer and share effective sales and engagement practices across the WPT team.
Solution Development & Engineering Collaboration
- Partner closely with design and engineering teams to develop accurate, scalable scopes of work.
- Support the creation of quotes, estimates, and proposals that align technical solutions with project delivery capabilities.
- Ensure solutions adhere to client requirements, budgets, timelines, and quality standards.
- Anticipate technical and delivery challenges, proactively addressing risks during solution development.
Project Transition & Delivery Support
- Provide clear, complete project documentation to ensure smooth handoff from sales to delivery teams.
- Lead or support project kickoff and handoff meetings with internal stakeholders.
- Maintain active communication with project managers to ensure alignment with milestones, scope, and client expectations.
- Support delivery teams as needed to ensure a consistent, high‑quality client experience from start
to finish.
Client Experience & Relationship Management
- Deliver a white‑glove client experience through proactive communication, professionalism, and accountability.
- Serve as the primary client liaison throughout sales and delivery phases.
- Support customer satisfaction efforts and contribute to long‑term account growth and repeat
business.
- Balance client advocacy with internal operational, financial, and technical considerations.
Operational Discipline & Systems Management
- Maintain accurate and timely CRM records, including client data, project details, and pipeline forecasts.
- Support continuous improvement of sales processes, workflows, and handoff practices.
- Stay current on workplace technology trends, tools, and best practices to inform client recommendations.
- Collaborate cross‑functionally to support success across all Hyphn business lines.
Qualifications & Experience
Professional Experience
- 5+ years of experience in AV, low‑voltage, security, or related workplace technology consulting, design, estimating, or integration roles.

Demonstrated experience estimating, specifying, and quoting complex technology projects.
•
Experience participating in site visits across multiple project phases, including pre‑construction.
•
Strong understanding of project lifecycles, milestones, sequencing, and quality assurance practices.
Technical & Professional Skills
•
Expertise in workplace AV and collaboration technologies.
•
Strong client‑facing communication and relationship‑building skills.
•
Ability to anticipate project risks and provide accurate labor and cost estimates.
•
Proficiency with CRM platforms (e.g., NetSuite or similar).
•
Familiarity with NetSuite, D‑Tools, XTEN-AV or similar estimating and documentation tools preferred.
•
High level of professionalism, organization, self‑motivation, and attention to detail.
