Job Description

Our client a leading financial institution in the Sacramento region is seeking an experienced Senior Loan Boarding & Funding Specialist to support complex loan boarding, funding, and data integrity functions. This senior-level role ensures accurate loan setup, validates funding conditions, resolves exceptions, and provides advanced operational support across the loan lifecycle. The ideal candidate brings will bring at least five years of experience in commercial loan boarding, funding or loan operations.

The Senior Loan Boarding & Funding Specialist is responsible for accurate loan boarding, payment structure setup, and funding execution, with a focus on complex transactions such as participations, syndications, SBA programs, and investor-driven structures. This position supports reconciliation, exception resolution, system enhancements, and serves as a key resource for maintaining compliance and operational accuracy. Pay Range : $29.00 - $32.00/hour (DOE)

Location: onsite in Sacramento

Schedule: flexible, with potential shifts including 7:30 a.m.-4:30 p.m., 9:00 a.m.-6:00 p.m., and 8:00 a.m.-4:30 p.m.

Key Responsibilities

  • Board loans into the core system with complete accuracy, reviewing executed documentation and validating all loan terms, structures, and funding conditions
  • Process funding transactions-including loans, advances, payoffs, and wires-while performing required callback verifications and adhering to internal controls
  • Set up complex loan structures such as escrow accounts, interest reserves, participations, syndications, SBA programs, and specialized fee arrangements
  • Support reconciliation activities, including GL balancing, data consistency checks, and resolution of discrepancies, variances, and system-related errors
  • Handle workflow escalations, contribute to system updates and operational improvements, and serve as a primary user of core and ancillary systems
  • Complete routine maintenance requests, support servicing functions through cross-training, and perform additional duties to ensure smooth departmental operations

Skills and Qualifications • High school diploma or equivalent required; college degree preferred

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in commercial loan boarding, funding, or loan operations, with deep knowledge of core banking systems, data integrity, and complex loan structures (participations, syndications, SBA, investor programs)
  • Strong accuracy, attention to detail, and reliability, with the ability to stay composed and adaptable in a fast-paced, high-volume environment
  • Clear, precise communication skills and a collaborative, team-oriented work style with demonstrated leadership when handling complex tasks
  • Commitment to compliance, internal controls, and UDAAP standards, ensuring consistent adherence to policies and regulatory expectations
  • Advanced understanding of accounting and regulatory requirements-including GAAP/FASB91 and secondary market guidelines-with strong system navigation and Microsoft Office proficiency
