The Department of Military and Veterans Affairs, Division of Alaska Military Youth Academy is recruiting for a Administrative Assistant 3!

This position is in the General Government (GGU) bargaining unit at a range 15 .

What You Will Be Doing:

The Alaska Military Youth Academy (AMYA) is Alaska's Premier Leadership Academy. Working at AMYA provides the opportunity to assist Alaska's youth in becoming their best selves. The Administrative Assistant 3 performs and assists with oversight for multiple administrative functional areas that require adopting internal processes to meet the needs/requirements of the organization. A significant portion of the duties and work are performed independently based on knowledge, skills and abilities and this position focuses on providing technical and detailed administrative support with emphasis on budgeting, creating and maintaining multiple spreadsheets, databases, and reporting requirements of complex State and Federal accounting systems. The work of an Administrative Assistant 3 is an integral part of a program for Alaska's youth that has long reaching opportunities for success.

The Working Environment You Can Expect:

The Administrative Assistant 3 position is located on Joint Base Elmendorf Richardson (JBER) at Camp Carroll. It provides ample parking, beautiful mountain views, trails for breaktime walking or jogging, and access to a no-cost fitness center. The daily work environment is generally indoors, in an office setting, but also involves walking around outside to various buildings on campus and working with your peers where they are located.

The successful applicants must pass a federal background check in order to qualify for military base access, which is required with this position's work location on base. The background check will include fingerprinting. All job offers are conditional pending successful completion of the federal background check and issuance of a Defense Biometrics Identification System (DBIDS) card allowing base access. Also, you must be able to maintain the clearance throughout your employment. If using a private vehicle this will require a valid Alaska Driver License, proof of vehicle insurance, and a valid State of Alaska vehicle registration.
