Position Overview

S&S Flooring Studio is seeking a highly organized, hands-on Facilities & Maintenance Technician to support our growing operations. This role is primarily focused on handyman work, property maintenance, facility organization, and keeping our business running efficiently. Warehouse responsibilities are secondary and primarily involve helping installers get out the door with the correct materials and maintaining organization.

If you enjoy fixing things, solving problems, organizing spaces, and taking ownership of projects, this position offers a variety of work both inside and outside the warehouse.

Key ResponsibilitiesFacilities Maintenance & Handyman Work (Approximately 75-80%)

  • Perform general repairs and maintenance at company facilities, rental properties, and project locations
  • Complete minor plumbing, electrical, drywall, painting, carpentry, door, hardware, and fixture repairs
  • Conduct routine inspections and identify maintenance needs before they become larger issues
  • Assemble, install, repair, and maintain shelving, displays, storage systems, and equipment
  • Perform exterior maintenance including pressure washing, landscaping touch-ups, debris removal, and property appearance improvements
  • Coordinate and assist with vendor access, maintenance projects, and equipment servicing
  • Maintain company vehicles, trailers, tools, and equipment in clean and operational condition
  • Troubleshoot and resolve facility-related issues independently whenever possible
  • Assist with warehouse improvements, storage solutions, and workspace organization projects

Warehouse & Installer Support (Approximately 20-25%)

  • Assist installers with loading materials, supplies, and equipment each morning
  • Receive and organize incoming flooring materials and vendor deliveries
  • Maintain clean, organized warehouse storage areas
  • Track inventory levels and report low stock items
  • Organize flooring materials, trims, adhesives, tools, and installation supplies
  • Assist with material transfers between warehouse and job sites
  • Ensure installers have all necessary materials before leaving for projects

Equipment Operation

  • Safely operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other material-handling equipment
  • Load and unload flooring materials and supplies
  • Maintain company equipment and report repair needs promptly

Qualifications

  • Previous handyman, maintenance, construction, facilities, remodeling, or skilled labor experience required
  • Strong knowledge of basic repairs and maintenance practices
  • Comfortable using hand tools, power tools, ladders, and maintenance equipment
  • Experience with light carpentry, painting, drywall, and general repairs preferred
  • Forklift experience preferred but not required
  • Strong organizational and problem-solving abilities
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Valid driver's license and clean driving record preferred

Physical Requirements

  • Lift and carry up to 75 pounds regularly
  • Stand, bend, kneel, climb ladders, and work in various indoor and outdoor environments
  • Work in warehouse, construction, maintenance, and outdoor conditions as needed

Position Breakdown

This is not primarily a warehouse position. The successful candidate will serve as the company's go-to person for maintenance, repairs, organization, and facility upkeep while helping ensure installers and projects are prepared for success each day.

Pay: $23.47 - $35.00 per hour
