Position Summary
To advance Teach For All’s 25-year vision , we are seeking a Leadership Director for our Global Leadership Accelerator (GLA) . The Accelerator works to grow the leadership of tens of thousands of leaders reshaping education around the world. This includes hundreds of staff supporting 15,000+ teachers currently in classrooms and close to 125,000 alumni leaders, collectively reaching millions of children across more than 60 countries.
You will join an entrepreneurial team accelerating the leadership and impact of thousands of social entrepreneurs, teachers, and system leaders who are reshaping education around the world. In this role, you will design transformative leadership experiences, coach senior leaders, and facilitate leadership development through both the Global Leadership Accelerator and the Global Institute for Shaping a Better Future .
You will report directly to the Head of the Global Leadership Accelerator, who also serves as a Chief Learning Officer for the Global Institute for Shaping a Better Future.
About the Team
The Global Leadership Accelerator works to grow the leadership of thousands of leaders across the Teach For All network who are working to transform education systems. The Accelerator seeks to cultivate deeply conscious leaders who, grounded in a clear sense of purpose, work collectively with others to challenge inequitable systems and create new possibilities for reshaping education.
The Global Institute for Shaping a Better Future is a global learning engine connecting educators, system leaders, and others changemakers at the forefront of reshaping education. The Institute contributes to the learning and leadership development of those working to transform education within and beyond the Teach For All network, also generating new insights, evidence, and tools to accelerate progress across the field.
Key Responsibilities
You will help launch new leadership initiatives and scale successful efforts globally, including across the Asia-Pacific region. This role offers the opportunity to help shape how leadership is developed across one of the world’s largest networks of changemakers working to reshape education.
Examples of initiatives include:
Co-designing a new Transforming Systems Fellowship bringing together rising policy and political leaders in positions of influence within their education systems
Coaching senior leaders in peer learning groups to deepen leadership practice and collective impact
Contributing to a pioneering set of programs that develop inner leadership for system change among individuals and teams
Co-designing and facilitating workshops through the Global Institute for Shaping a Better Future to grow the leadership of thousands of educators and system leaders worldwide
Day-to-day responsibilities may include:
Partnering with teams across the global network to diagnose leadership needs of key stakeholders (e.g., CEOs, senior leaders, managers, teachers, alumni)
Co-designing the vision and scope for new leadership development programs and facilitating learning experiences
Coaching senior leaders and leadership teams
Leading project teams to manage leadership initiatives from idea to execution (e.g., design, communications, marketing, enrollment, delivery, measurement)
Building strategic partnerships with external partners to co-create flagship programs
Capturing impact data and stories to support learning and continuous improvement
Contributing ideas to inform the broader strategy of the Global Leadership Accelerator
Qualifications
Expertise in leadership development and/or organizational development with demonstrated experience in coaching others, leading teams, or working with senior leaders
Additional experience in one or more of the following areas: coaching, classroom and/or school leadership, adult learning and development, systems leadership, community organizing, diversity, equity and inclusion, adaptive leadership, or designing learning at scale
Expertise in designing and facilitating in-person and/or online learning experiences, including community-building
Exceptional strategic thinking abilities with a proven track record of diagnosing and solving complex problems and navigating ambiguity
Strong relationship management skills, with the ability to influence and mobilize others while working virtually and remotely; ability to thrive in collaborative environments
Superior project management skills; self-starter who can manage and independently prioritize across multiple streams of work in a global, fast-paced environment
Demonstrated commitment to disrupting inequitable systems and ability to work effectively in diverse global environments
Entrepreneurial mindset with the ability to envision and seed new opportunities
External presence and sound judgment, with experience building partnerships
