Emergency Room

The Emergency Department at LeConte Medical Center is one of the busiest ERs across all the Covenant Health facilities. We see approximately 44,500 patients annually who vary from locals to tourists from around the world. Our ED department is equipped with 30 ER beds as well as an 8-bed observation center and 2 triage rooms. The ER staff is made up of RNs, ER Techs, and HUCs that work together to provide excellent patient care.

Practices in compliance with regulatory standards and adheres to hospital policy and procedures in the performance of duties.

Performs, prioritizes and documents patient care tasks with education and competency documented. Refer to Covenant Health Delegation Grid.

Accurately follows the plan of care and pertinent medical orders in collaboration and under direction of RN.

Participates in unit specific quality assurance activities as requested.

Demonstrates principles of infection control; collaborates with infection control nurse to ensure safety of patients, visitors, and personnel.

Assists in orienting new employees or students to unit routines.

Demonstrates competence in performing critical skills to include appropriate delivery of care according to the age-specific needs of the population served.

Follows policies, procedures, and safety standards. Works toward achieving goals and objectives, and participates in quality improvement initiatives as requested.

One (1) year of continuous experience as an EMT-P.

Must have and maintain paramedic licensure with the State of Tennessee. Job Title PARAMEDIC
