Responsibilities Assemble mechanical units or fabricated parts to make sub‑assemblies or complete products within routine and repetitive assembly operations.

Use various hand and power tools and operate equipment that may include jigs, dies, fixtures, templates, punch presses, riveting machines, circular shears, and drill presses to cut, file, fit, punch, ream, rivet, form, and/or assemble.

Fit, align, calibrate, and adjust parts and mechanisms to meet tolerances and product requirements.

Monitor quality of products and raw materials.

Read simple blueprints.

Perform simple routine maintenance and cleaning.

Determine and correct minor machine malfunctions.

Typically has 3-5 years of experience and works under broad supervision.

Typical job titles include:

Press Operator, Machine Operator, Maker/Packer.
