Job Title: Tig Welder
Job Description
This role focuses primarily on the mechanical assembly and disassembly of decanters, centrifuges, and heat exchangers, with light welding responsibilities using Tig and other processes. You will work in a hands‑on environment using hand and power tools daily, while receiving training to build your mechanical skills and product knowledge.
Responsibilities
- Assemble and disassemble decanters, centrifuges, and heat exchangers according to specifications and work instructions.
- Perform light welding duties, approximately 10‑20% of the time, primarily using Tig welding processes.
- Use hand tools and power tools safely and effectively during daily assembly and disassembly tasks.
- Inspect components and assemblies for proper fit, alignment, and quality, and report any issues to the appropriate personnel.
- Follow safety procedures and shop guidelines while working with welding equipment, tools, and machinery.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area to support efficient workflow and safe operations.
- Collaborate with a small team to meet production goals and support refurbishment projects as needed.
- Be available and willing to work weekend shifts, including both Saturday and Sunday, as part of the regular schedule.
Essential Skills
- At least 2 years of welding experience using any welding process.
- Hands‑on experience with Tig welding or strong familiarity with Tig processes.
- Mechanical aptitude and interest in learning assembly and disassembly of industrial equipment.
- Ability to use hand tools and power tools safely and confidently.
- Willingness to perform welding only 10‑20% of the time and focus primarily on assembly work.
- Ability to follow instructions, read basic work directions, and adhere to safety procedures.
- Openness to working weekends, including both Saturday and Sunday.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Any prior experience specifically with Tig welding is a strong plus.
- Experience with Mig welding and flux core welding is beneficial.
- Previous exposure to industrial or shop environments is an advantage.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing quality work.
- Willingness to learn new mechanical skills and processes through on‑the‑job training.

The schedule includes weekend work, and you should be comfortable working in varying temperatures and typical shop conditions while following all safety protocols.
Job Type & Location
This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Houston, TX.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $27.00/hr.
