JOB SUMMARY: The Facilities EHS Technician ensures the facility remains safe, compliant, and fully operational. This is a detail-driven position ideal for a candidate with strong mechanical aptitude, organizational skills, and a commitment to safety and continuous improvement. It combines hands-on facility maintenance with coordination of Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS) programs.

Facilities and Equipment

Monitors and troubleshoots facilities equipment and machinery to ensure it is in safe working order.

Oversees outside contractor equipment and machinery installations, maintenance and repairs.

Maintains facility grounds and parking areas including lighting, sprinkler systems, and lawn.

Performs scheduled vehicle preventive maintenance as needed.

Performs regularly scheduled preventive maintenance on equipment and machinery.

Operates forklifts and scissor lifts as necessary.

Maintains facilities hazardous material inventory and safety data sheet binders.

Replaces air conditioner air filters on a quarterly basis.

Assists with shoveling snow and salting/sanding sidewalks during winter months.

Cleans and paints doors and walls as needed.

Environmental Health & Safety (EHS)

Conduct routine safety inspections and hazard assessments.

Active participation in Safety Committee

Maintain EHS documentation, including training records, SDS files, incident reports, and compliance logs.

Coordinate and deliver safety training programs (PPE, Lockout/Tagout, forklift operation, hazard communication, etc.).

Manage hazardous waste handling, recycling programs, and environmental reporting requirements.

Support emergency preparedness efforts and maintain safety equipment (fire extinguishers, alarms, eyewash stations, etc.).

Partner with HR and Operations to promote and strengthen a culture of safety.

Input Greenhouse Gas (GHG) emissions into EHS software.

OTHER FUNCTIONS:

Perform other duties as assigned to support facility operations and organizational needs.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Associate’s degree, or technical degree.

Minimum of three (3) years of experience in facilities maintenance and EHS coordination

Equivalent combination of education and experience.

Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.

Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.

Excellent communication and documentation skills.

Ability to conduct training and present information effectively to groups.

Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, hands-on environment.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

Knowledge of machinery, equipment, and tools necessary for the preventive maintenance and repair of the facilities, equipment and machinery.

Knowledge of occupational hazards and safety precautions.

Four years’ experience painting and performing equipment and machinery maintenance.

Experience with maintenance management systems or CMMS software.

Experience working within UpKeep and Cority.
