SHR Talent is partnering with a high-growth, PE-backed multi-site healthcare organization seeking a Controller to serve as the company’s primary financial operator. The Controller will build the accounting infrastructure, enhance reporting accuracy, and support the company’s plan to scale and eventually pursue a transaction.
The Controller is an ideal role for someone who has a strong systems mindset and is a culture-oriented, hands‑on, and detail‑driven leader comfortable in a lean organization who has experience in multi‑location healthcare or healthcare services.
The Controller must have the ability to work a hybrid work schedule in Tampa, FL which includes working remotely Monday and Friday and onsite Tuesday - Thursday.
Responsibilities:
- Lead and own all general ledger accounting, monthly close, and financial reporting
- Issue financial statements and prepare polished board‑level reporting materials
- Complete the post‑divestiture separation and implement scalable financial processes
- Establish culture, structure, and accountability across accounting and finance
- Oversee billing, revenue cycle workflows, and coordination across operations
- Lead and drive the SAGE system implementation to completion
- Partner with Operations, Human Resources, Clinical Leadership, and PE sponsors on growth strategy
- Support add‑on locations, practice sales, and integration initiatives
- Manage outsourced vendors, including Human Resources, payroll, and legal
- Rebuild Financial Planning & Analysis capabilities and support budgeting, forecasting, and analysis
Qualifications:
- 7–15+ years of accounting or finance experience in multisite healthcare or healthcare services
- Proven ability to build or rebuild financial infrastructure in a high‑growth environment
- Strong hands‑on operator with deep general ledger experience and the ability to issue financial statements independently
- Experience supporting PE‑backed organizations and transaction readiness
