Work Environment

This position is onsite at one of our industrial client sites located in the Wilson, NC area. As part of the team, you will work Monday to Friday, from 6:00 AM to 5:30 PM. The environment will be dynamic and fast-paced, requiring quick decision-making skills and the ability to adapt to changing situations. You will work closely with Site Safety Managers and various personnel to create the safest workplace for all employees.

Key Responsibilities

• Respond to medical emergencies promptly, utilizing assessment skills to evaluate the nature and extent of injuries or illnesses.
• Administer basic first aid and medical support while adhering to federal, state, and local guidelines, as well as company policies.
• Document patient assessments, findings, and treatments accurately and concisely to maintain compliance with medical and legal standards.
• Collaborate with Site Safety Managers to ensure a secure and safe working environment, including participating in safety meetings and health monitoring.
• Conduct regular inspections of emergency medical equipment, ensuring all items are well-maintained and ready for use.
• Engage in mandatory Workplace Health and Safety (WHS) training to ensure full compliance with safety regulations and risk management protocols.
• Lead by example in promoting safe work practices among coworkers and engaging in hazard identification efforts.
• Report any workplace injuries, hazards, or incidents immediately to the relevant authorities.
• Support the implementation of Occupational Health and Safety (OH&S) policies and procedures, participating in audits and inspections to enhance workplace safety.

Patient Population / Client Focus

The EMT will play a vital role in caring for a diverse patient population at the industrial site, which includes workers from various trades requiring emergency assistance. The role demands compassion, quick assessment capabilities, and the ability to manage both physical and psychological emergencies effectively. Your presence will contribute to a sense of security among personnel, knowing that immediate medical assistance is readily available.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; a Bachelor’s Degree is preferred.
• Must have completed an accredited Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) program.
• EMT State Certification and/or National Registry certification is mandatory.
• Current certifications in First Aid, CPR, AED, and Basic Life Support (BLS) are required.

Preferred Experience

• A minimum of 1-3 years of experience as an EMT, including exposure to occupational medicine and emergency response scenarios.
• Previous experience in emergency 911 services or first response roles is highly valued.

Compensation and Benefits

This full-time EMT position offers a competitive hourly wage ranging from $17 to $22, commensurate with experience and qualifications.
