Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Cook to join our culinary team. The ideal candidate will have experience in the food industry and a passion for meal preparation. As a Cook, you will play a vital role in ensuring that our kitchen operates smoothly while delivering high-quality meals to our residents. Your expertise in food safety and cooking techniques will contribute to the overall success of our dietary department.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and cook a variety of meals according to established recipes and dietary guidelines.
- Ensure all food is prepared in compliance with food safety standards and regulations.
- Assist in menu planning and recipe development to enhance meal offerings.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen, including proper storage of ingredients and equipment.
- Operate kitchen equipment safely, including knives, ovens, grills, and fryers.
- Collaborate with other kitchen staff to ensure timely meal service.
- Monitor inventory levels and assist with ordering supplies as needed.
- Provide support to the dietary aide team in fulfilling special dietary requests.
Requirements
- Previous experience in a cook or food service role within a restaurant or dietary department is preferred.
- Strong knowledge of food safety practices and regulations.
- Proficient knife skills and familiarity with various cooking techniques.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining high standards of quality.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work well within a team.
- A passion for cooking and helping others through food preparation.
