Job Description

We have an opportunity for a Patient Care Assistant (CNA/ Certified Nursing Assistant) on our Inpatient Unit. This is a PRN, 12-hour shift position. The hours are 7PM-7AM with some weekend work assignments. Key Responsibilities:
The Patient Care Assistant (CNA) assists in the delivery of patient care under the supervision of a Registered Nurse. This includes but is not limited to:
•
Provides direct patient care and performs routine tasks as assigned.
•
Organizes and prioritizes workload minimizing/eliminating undue delays, backlogs, or disorder.
•
Time management incorporates purposeful rounding; hourly during the day and every 2 hours during the night, anticipating patient and family needs jointly with the RN.
•
Must consistently demonstrate caring and appropriate behavior when interacting with patients and families.
•
Monitors the activities of patients and maintains a safe physical and psychosocial environment.
•
Able to adapt to changes in workload or patient assignments.
•
Assists patients as needed in attending Child Life Activities and special events.
•
Ensures patient care areas are neat and clean.
Required Qualifications:
•
High School Diploma /GED
•
Certified Nurse Assistant (CNA) in state of SC
•
Basic Life Support (BLS) - or obtained within 3 months
•
Nursing Assistant experience
Preferred Qualifications:
•
One year of pediatric nursing assistant experience
The pay range for this position is $14.85 - $22.28. Compensation is determined based on years of relevant experience and departmental equity.
